The MDRRMO, MSWDO, BFP and Mayor Eduardo Diman Datu, moved swiftly to offer assistance to the Bacoloreños

On June 22, 2023. The people of Bacolor were greeted by a beautiful day. Everybody is occupied with their work, whether it be at the office, at home, or perhaps even in school.

However, Bacolor experienced an unexpected tragedy, particularly in the barangay of Cabalantian. Because it suddenly began to rain heavily in the afternoon, along with strong winds and piercing lightning. However, the worst part was when, out of nowhere, a powerful tornado formed and wreaked havoc on the barangay’s property.

A lot of things were destroyed, including the houses, some of which were blown off or had holes in their roofs. Trees fell and were scattered on the roads; power lines were cut; plants were damaged; and above all, it was very painful to hear that a famous parish in barangay Cabalantian also suffered from the tornado, St. Joseph Parish. Whereupon its entire ceiling collapsed and the windows were shattered.

Even now, accepting what happened is still difficult, especially for those who were directly affected by the tornado. Some people have said that “it is better to be robbed, than to have the house destroyed”. Because, the aftermath of this calamity will truly cause a long-term process to restore.
